No. The top closure involves a complex, multi-step manual fold to form the double-thick hanger tab and seat the slotted lid. It is designed for hand-packing operations.
Will the back of the hanger tab match the rest of the box?
Only if you specify two-sided printing. Because the tab folds 180 degrees, the back face shows the interior side of the paperboard. If you use a board with an uncoated or unbleached inside, it will be visible unless printed.
Can I use corrugated board for this carton?
It is generally not recommended without careful testing. The 180-degree fold required for the hanger tab can crush corrugated flutes, creating excessive bulk that prevents the slotted lid from locking properly. Solid bleached sulfate (SBS) or folding boxboard (FBB) are much better fits.
Why does this style require a larger flat blank than a basic hanging box?
The front panel has a very tall extension to form the inner roof and the double-thick hanger tab. This creates an irregular, sprawling flat blank that reduces how many cartons can be nested on a single sheet of paperboard, increasing the overall board requirement.
Can I ship this box directly in the mail?
No. The protruding hanger tab is vulnerable to crushing and snagging in parcel networks. This is a primary retail package that needs a master shipper or outer carton for transit.
Does the bottom closure affect hanging capacity?
Yes. Even though the top interlocking hanger is very strong, the entire weight of the product rests on the bottom tuck flap. For heavier items, the regular tuck bottom may open, and a snap-lock or auto-bottom base might be a safer choice.
How does the top lid lock into place?
