Square corners for tight secondary packing

The friction locks and front tongue closure are designed for direct delivery or retail hand-offs. If shipping through a mixed courier network, the tray often needs an outer shipper or heavy taping to prevent the lid from catching and opening.
Board, Ventilation, and Closure Choices
Board thickness and corner locks
This design is highly sensitive to board caliper. The front roll-end panels and rear hook tabs need precise clearances to fold without tearing or binding. It folds cleanly in thinner profiles like E-flute. If a thicker board like B-flute is chosen for stacking strength, the fold clearances must be explicitly updated.
Ventilation holes
The template includes two circular vent holes on the back wall by default. If the tray is being used for retail goods or apparel where moisture escape is not a concern, these holes can be removed to simplify the cutting die.
Closure security for transit
Decide if the front tongue lock provides enough security for the intended route. For direct hand-offs, it is usually sufficient. For parcel shipping, plan for an outer mailer or tamper-evident seals.
Flute direction
Specify the flute direction based on the primary stress. Running flutes parallel to the depth can improve stacking strength, but the direction must also support clean 180-degree folds on the front roll-end panels.
