Does this display require glue or hardware?
The walls connect using deep cross-slots (slit-locks), and the roof locks into place using mortise holes that drop over tabs on the front and back walls. No hardware or adhesive is needed for the core structure.
What material is required for this structure?
It is designed for thick, rigid boards, typically 16mm ICB or honeycomb board. The material must be thick enough to support the V-cut hinges and rigid enough to prevent the large walls from bowing.
How do the door and window sills work?
They use V-cut hinges. The CNC router cuts a V-shaped groove into the board, leaving the outer liner intact to act as a clean, flexible hinge for the swinging door and fold-out sills.
How is this display shipped?
The five panels (front, back, two sides, and roof) are delivered flat. Because of their large footprint, they require oversized shipping protection or palletization.
Can this be die-cut?
The sheer size of the blanks and the requirement for V-cut hinges mean this structure is produced on a large-format CNC flatbed router rather than a traditional die-cutter.
Is this safe for children to play in?
While shaped like a playhouse, any structure intended for actual children's play must be independently validated for safety, edge finish, and tipping risks based on the specific material used.
Can the inside of the playhouse be printed?
If the rigid board is double-sided and the flatbed printer can register both sides before routing, the interior walls can be printed.
Can we add more windows to the back wall?
The back wall is solid by default but can be modified with custom cutouts or additional V-cut windows depending on the structural limits.
