FAQs

Can this carton be erected on automated equipment?

Typically, no. While the side seam is glued during manufacturing, rolling the internal buffers and engaging the tongue locks requires manual dexterity that automated packaging lines usually do not support.

Is this carton safe for parcel shipping?

It provides excellent internal bracing, but the outer tongue locks can catch or pop open during rough transit. For individual courier delivery, it should be placed inside a protective outer mailer or secured with tamper-evident seals.

Can this be made from corrugated board?

Micro-flute corrugated is generally a poor fit. The thickness of corrugated board causes the multi-segment buffer to bind when rolled inward, and the tight folds are prone to cracking. It performs best in flexible paperboard.

Will the inside of the buffer match the outside of the box?

By default, the rolled inner floor displays the unprinted inside of the board. If you need a continuous brand color inside, you will need to specify two-sided printing.

Does this protect the sides of the product?

The integrated buffers only protect the top and bottom ends. The side panels remain standard single-wall paperboard, so the product should be able to withstand normal side handling.

A sample verifies that the board grade can handle the tight buffer folds without cracking, and that the rolled segments clear the internal glue seam smoothly during assembly.
