The semi-circular tuck tab relies on friction against the front wall slit. The width and height of this tab should be matched to the board thickness. If the tab is too small, the lid may open unexpectedly; if it is too large, repeated opening may tear the slot.

The flat front and back panels provide an excellent surface for high-quality printing. However, because the side walls bow outward, they may rub against adjacent cartons during bulk transit if not packed carefully. A protective varnish or coating can help prevent scuffing.
