Corrugated flutes typically crush and fail when forced into tight concave curves. This design relies on flexible paperboard like SBS or FBB.

It works only as an inner presentation layer. The spherical shape has very low crush resistance and typically buckles under vertical loads. It should be shipped inside a rigid outer carton.

It is a single-piece, non-glued design. The two halves fold together like a clamshell and lock using three friction tabs that insert into matching slits.

Curved creases behave differently depending on the exact board thickness and fiber direction. A physical sample verifies that the panels bow smoothly without wrinkling and that the tabs align correctly under tension.

The flat template resembles a figure-eight or two joined circles. Circular shapes leave larger gaps between blanks on a printing sheet compared to straight-edged rectangular boxes.

Because the box is cut from a single flat sheet, you can print on both sides of the board before it is folded, allowing for interior branding or patterns.

Products usually sit loose, wrapped in tissue, or use a custom die-cut insert to prevent rattling against the curved walls. The internal space is irregular, so exact product fit should be tested.
