This variant changes the closure sequence. The tuck tongue extends from the front wall, folds backward over the front edge of the closed lid, and inserts into a slot located directly on the top lid panel.

Can this tray be erected on automated packaging lines?

The webbed corners and side locking tongues rely on manual fold-and-hold assembly. It is designed for hand-packing stations, and is generally not suited for automated cartoners.

Can I make this box out of corrugated board?

The diagonal folds needed for the webbed corners will typically bind or crush if made from corrugated material. It performs well in standard folding carton paperboard.

Is the bottom of the tray liquid-tight?

The continuous webbed corners prevent physical gaps, making it very resistant to crumbs and light grease leaks. However, it is not truly liquid-tight unless the board is specifically coated and the folds are tightly compressed.

Does this box stack well?

Tapered walls naturally reduce vertical compression strength compared to straight walls. While it can support lightweight stacking, excessive top weight may cause the angled walls to bow.

Do I need tape or glue to keep the box closed?
