The tray base locks mechanically without adhesive. The side walls fold completely over the front and back dust flaps, trapping them in place using the friction of the board.

Can this tray be erected by automated machinery?

This specific roll-end design relies on manual assembly at the packing station. It is not a fit for standard automated folder-gluers or high-speed carton erectors.

Will the inside of the box be blank?

By default, the inner roll-over side panels and the inside of the lid will show the unprinted side of your board. Two-sided printing is needed if you want graphics visible on these interior surfaces.

Is this box secure enough for courier shipping?

The tuck lid and friction-locked walls are intended for retail presentation, takeout, or hand delivery. For parcel shipping, this tray should be placed inside a dedicated corrugated outer shipper.

Can this be made from corrugated board?

Micro-flute corrugated is generally a poor match. The 180-degree folds needed to lock the side panels will likely bind or crush corrugated material. It performs best with standard folding carton boards.

Can we change how steep the tapered walls are?

The taper is controlled by adjusting the top opening dimensions relative to the bottom footprint. The structural design software will automatically recalculate the wall angles to maintain the locking mechanism.

How is this box delivered?

It is delivered completely flat. Because there are no glued joints, the flat blanks stack very densely, which helps save space in crowded retail or food service stockrooms.

Can this box hold food directly?

The structural design works well for food, but direct contact depends entirely on the paperboard choice. You will need to specify a food-safe board with an appropriate grease or moisture barrier.
