It is designed for rigid boards, such as 8mm or 10mm Inverted Corrugated Board (ICB), honeycomb board, or PVC foam board. Typical thin corrugated board is generally not stiff enough for the slotted grid.

Why is the exact board thickness so important?

The stability of the display depends entirely on the slots gripping the board. If you change from an 8mm board to a 10mm board, the cutting template should be updated to widen the slots, or the pieces may not fit together.
