Why does the display header usually require two-sided printing?

During transit, the top flap is tucked inside the box. When converted to a display, that flap is folded back and stands upright. This means the unprinted inside of the carton becomes the front-facing header unless two-sided printing is specified.

Staff untuck the top flap, fold it backward along its crease, and stand it vertically. The front cutout is already built into the carton, so no tearing or perforations are required.

Can this carton be shipped on its own?
