Because the top converges to a solid point, the carton must be loaded from the bottom. The flat sleeve is popped open, the product is inserted through the open base, and the bottom flaps are folded inward and sealed.

This specific style uses overlapping flaps that do not lock on their own. They must be secured with adhesive, tape, or a strong label. If you want to avoid gluing, compare a tuck-bottom or self-locking pyramid instead.

Corrugated board is usually a poor fit. The four panels meet at a very sharp top point, and thicker fluted materials will bind or crush at that vertex. Thin, high-quality paperboard yields the best results.

The pointed top cannot bear vertical weight. They must be displayed in a single layer or placed in custom retail-ready trays that protect the tips.

The converter glues the single side seam and delivers the cartons flat. They pack very densely in this flat state, though the curved shape of the blank means they take up slightly more footprint than flat rectangular boxes.

When laid out flat, the four triangular panels form a sweeping, curved shape. These curved blanks do not nest as tightly on a large sheet of paperboard as standard rectangles do, which can increase the overall material usage.

Artwork must be designed to fit the triangular shape of each panel. Continuous graphics that wrap around the corners require careful alignment, as the panels taper toward the top vertex.

Because the pyramids cannot be stacked, they require a rigid outer box. Packers often use custom partitions or pack the pyramids in alternating inverted rows to protect the delicate points during transit.
