Hexagonal Rosette Carton

The side seam is glued before delivery, so the carton arrives flat. However, closing the top and bottom rosettes requires a complex twisting motion. Unless you have specialized robotic twisting fixtures, the ends must be closed manually.

It requires a specific sequence: pushing all six flaps inward simultaneously so they overlap in a spiral, then tucking the final tongue under the first flap. It is easy to learn but takes more time per unit than a standard tuck flap.

Corrugated board is generally not recommended. The diagonal creases and interlocking tongues require the flexibility and snap of paperboard (like FBB or SBS). Corrugated flutes often crush and distort during the twisting motion, preventing the rosette from laying flat.

The friction-locked top and bottom may open if the box is dropped or subjected to heavy vibration. For parcel delivery, this carton is typically used as a primary presentation pack inside a sturdy outer shipping box.

The bottom rosette bears the weight of the product. While the interlocking design is surprisingly strong, heavy items can cause the center to bow outward and unlock. Always test a physical sample with your actual product weight.

The rosette closure is designed to lock itself using friction and overlapping geometry. However, if you need tamper evidence, a clear wafer seal or branded label must be applied over the center point.

Because the closure relies on six folded points meeting in the center, a tiny natural gap remains. Loose powders or very small items will sift out unless they are contained in an inner bag or wrap.

The carton is delivered flat. The side seam is already glued, so you only need to open the hexagonal tube and fold the top and bottom rosettes.

A window can be added to the flat side panels to display the product. However, the window cutout should be kept away from the vertical creases to maintain the structural strength of the hexagonal tube.
