Heavy Payload Transport
The entire weight of the payload is borne by the die-cut handle and the crash-lock base. For very heavy items, the handle area is susceptible to tearing. Heavy goods are better served by a reinforced tray or a box with a separate, heavy-duty plastic handle.
High-Volume Automated Packing
The complex folding and tucking required to secure the gable top and handle are designed for human hands. If the packing line relies on automated top-sealing equipment, a standard straight-tuck or seal-end carton is usually a more practical choice.

Grain direction is typically run horizontally around the carton to ensure the main vertical creases fold cleanly and the side glue seam remains straight. However, this orientation puts the handle under cross-grain stress, making physical tear testing highly recommended before a full production run.
