When to Consider a Standard Single-Wall Carton
High-speed automated bottom loading
The skillet base may not fit all automated cartoners. If bottom-loading speed is the priority, a crash-lock or standard straight-line carton may be a better choice.
Cost-sensitive or lightweight products
The inner lining uses more material than a standard carton. If the product does not need double-wall strength, a standard tuck-top carton will use less board.
Board Thickness and Bottom Sealing Choices
Board thickness and fold clearance
The 180-degree inner lining folds require precise crease offsets. Thick boards or corrugated flutes can bind or crack during this fold, so solid folding carton board is usually required.
Bottom sealing method
The skillet base must be sealed during fulfillment. The choice between hot melt adhesive and tape will affect the surface finish requirements on the bottom flaps.
Inside printing strategy
Because the inner lining folds inward from the main blank, graphics intended for the interior can be printed on the same side as the exterior artwork, simplifying the press run.
Flat-shipped pallet density
The pre-folded inner lining makes the flat carton three layers thick at the seams. This reduces the number of blanks that fit on a single pallet, which should be factored into freight and storage planning.
Inner Printing and Top Lock Adjustments
Locking slit placement
The tuck tongue and receiver cut can be adjusted to change the closure friction and security of the top lid.
