When to Compare Other Inserts
Closed-bottom packing
This folder has no locking tabs or glue seams. If you need an insert that stays closed on its own or holds loose items, compare pocket envelopes or locking folders.
Lighter rigidity needs
If a 3-ply board is too thick or unnecessary for your payload, a basic double-wall folder uses less material and needs only one fold.
Board and Sealing Decisions
Board Grade and Caliper
This folder relies on two 180-degree folds. Folding boxboard or solid bleached board works well. Thick corrugated board is usually a poor fit because the flutes resist folding completely flat and create hinge tension.
Grain Direction
To reduce the risk of the board cracking along the hinges, the material grain should run parallel to the two vertical creases.
Sealing Method
Decide how the folder will stay closed. It can be trapped inside a tight-fitting outer carton, sealed with a clear wafer seal, or glued shut during fulfillment.
Window Film Application
If the window needs to protect the product from dust or scratching, a clear film patch is applied over the aperture during manufacturing.

Inner Panel Clearance
The inner folding panel is slightly narrower than the outer panels. The template calculates this clearance based on your exact board thickness so the folder lays flat without binding.
Window Sizing and Placement
If using the windowed version, the aperture can be resized and repositioned anywhere on the top panel to frame your specific product.
Hanging Hole Integration
The rectangular window can be modified into a smaller sombrero or delta punch if the folder will be sealed and hung on a retail pegboard.
