Product Fit

Can this carton hold fine powders?

Only if the powder is contained within an inner bag. The perforated lines around the spout are not sift-proof, and fine particulates will leak through the cuts during transit.

Handling and Use

Is the pour spout reclosable?

No. The push-through tab is designed to break inward and stay open. For a reclosable option, a different spout style with a tuck-in flap should be evaluated.

Materials

What board grades support the push-through tab?

Solid Bleached Board (SBB) or Folding Boxboard (FBB) are generally preferred. The board needs high internal stiffness so the tab breaks cleanly at the perforations rather than crushing or bending when the consumer pushes it.
